Where Zaurus is a state of mind.

RUPP TECHNOLOGY CORPORATE BACKGROUNDER

Rupp Technology Corporation was established in 1985 to develop and market reliable mobile technology solutions. As a recognized pioneer in "mobility solutions," Rupp has developed a reputation for innovation, customer service, and consistently introducing quality products that address the needs of their time.

Rupp’s first million dollar product was FastLynx, a mobility enhancing connectivity solution. FastLynx connectivity technology set market standards from 1986 through 1991 and has been deployed across millions of PCs worldwide. After winning countless technical excellence awards, the FastLynx technology was licensed by Microsoft in 1991 for inclusion in the DOS operating system.

Sharp Corporation, foreseeing the importance of PC to PDA connectivity, selected Rupp to develop a family of Sharp branded PC Companion linking solutions. Since 1989, Rupp has provided Sharp with state-of-the-art connectivity and data synchronization solutions, including Sharp's newly released Zaurus Application Partner II for Windows 95.

While Rupp Technology is based in Phoenix, their products are distributed in over seven languages throughout the world. Today, Rupp Technology Corporation manufactures, distributes, and sells the largest selection of Wizard and Zaurus enhancements in the world. In addition to Rupp's Phoenix office, Rupp also maintains offices in Los Angeles and New York City.

In 1989, Rupp made a radical decision and decided to focus its resources on Sharp Corporation’s Wizard and Zaurus handheld product lines. The decision turned out to be a wise one: up through the end of 1996, Sharp Corporation has sold over 1,000,000 Zaurus units and is currently the market leader in terms of total PDA handheld units sold. For over five years, Sharp has consistently developed the most successful Organizer and PDA handheld devices on the market.

Since 1990, Rupp’s sales have grown consistently at the rate of twenty percent a year, but 1996 promises even greater growth in the range of thirty percent. Rupp believes, along with many others in the industry, that the Organizer, PDA, and handheld PC market is poised for a period of rapid expansion.

Today, Rupp is the leading software developer in the Zaurus marketplace. Over the years, Rupp has proven itself: a resourceful innovator dedicated to customer service, aggressive product development, and strong multi-channel marketing. Now, at the end of 1996, we are positioned on the verge of a major market upheaval as the new Microsoft Windows CE operating system promises to capture significant market share in 1997. The changes that will transform our market in 1997 represent our greatest challenge to date. Rupp began as a one desk company and has emerged as the world's largest developer, publisher, manufacturer, and distributor of software, accessories, and enhancements for Sharp’s line of Wizard and Zaurus handheld devices.
